POLLOCK SERIES

This series is an homage to the founder of American gestural abstraction and was inspired by Raphael's visit to Pollock's studio and home in Springs, Long Island in 1985. Because of Raphael's close physical resemblance to Pollock, he became intrigued with "getting inside his skin" and separating the man from the myth. This project culminated in the video "One Gesture of the Heart, A Tribute To Jackson Pollock", produced in 1986, where Raphael becomes Pollock.
